Why vaccinate my Puppy?
Getting your puppy vaccinated is an important part of your puppy’s healthcare plan. Vaccinations are highly effective in preventing serious diseases which can be fatal even with treatment. Vaccines are divided into two groups – Core and Non-Core. Core vaccines should be given to all puppies. These help protect against the most serious canine diseases. Non – Core vaccines are recommended only for certain dogs. Administering non-core vaccines also depends on the breed, age and health of the dog. Our veterinarians can do a health check on your dog and advise you as to what is required.
Dog vaccination schedule
Puppies
Core vaccination schedule:
- 6 – 8 weeks First vaccination
- 10 – 12 weeks Second vaccination
- 14 – 16 weeks Third vaccination
Booster vaccinations:
- 1yr after 14 week (third) vaccination a booster is required
Adult dogs
- Canine cough vaccination every year
